Creating a Civic Forum

New Play Development

The organization will produce five workshop productions of plays written by local authors with the intent of improving the caliber of local playwriting by providing a forum in which writers can develop their work for production. By fostering and building new voices, the organization hopes to reinvigorate and unify local theatre in New Orleans. Visit our season schedule for tickets and performance dates. If you are interested in participating, please contact us.

Community Development

Using techniques gleaned from Augusto Boal, the organization will develop short theatrical pieces based on Luis Valdez’s Los Actos. These short plays will focus on political and social forces at play in New Orleans and attempt to reach non-traditional audiences.

Local and Online Radio

The organization has partnered with Radio for the Blind and Print Handicapped (WRBH) to provide audio recordings of our performances to sight and mobility impaired audiences in the New Orleans area.

Additionally, as a strong advocate of independent journalism, the organization will continue to underwrite the local National Public Radio (NPR) affiliate, WWNO.

Leading by Example |

Renewable Energy

The organization will offset all electricity and fuel used in our productions through certified renewable energy credits (RECs). This commitment to a cleaner, more sustainable Louisiana will help improve renewable energy infrastructure while preventing the annual emission of 20,000 pounds of carbon dioxide.
